People in Milbank are mourning the loss of a friend and staple of the community.
Joanne Van Lith, a long-time nurse and organizer of the Milbank community's cancer walk, has died.
Friends and family say Van Lith spent hundreds of hours over the years working to raise money and awareness for the cause. Because of her health, Van Lith was the honorary chair of this years walk.
She passed away earlier this week following her own battle with ovarian cancer.
